Josephine Wangari
(“Building a world where gender equality and youth leadership thrive.”) is a passionate Pan-African feminist and human rights defender with over 12 years of experience driving change across Africa and Asia. She believes in the power of young people and communities to lead transformation from the ground up. With a strong background in project planning, gender equality, and human rights–based development, Josephine has worked with leading organizations like Oxfam, FEMNET, ActionAid, and Plan International. At GIE volunteer Programme, she brings her deep commitment to empowering women and youth, promoting gender justice, and inspiring inclusive leadership. Her energy, mentorship, and vision help Global Exchange Volunteer Programme create a space where global volunteers and local communities come together to learn, grow, and make lasting impact.
